So far this class has been interesting and I have learned some things about the internet I didn't know. However, I have a friend who took the course last semester and said that it involved a lot of html coding and I was really looking forward to that. I'm a PWE concentration, so I pretty much have to take this class, but I was intrigue by the syllabus and so far have remained fairly interested. I'm really looking forward to getting into this 3rd project on social software. While it isn't a project that is relevant to my career goals, social software is something we all encounter everyday and I really enjoy playing around with it. I feel like Online Caroline is stalking me. I may dump her soon.

I like how this course lets us explore the web. It doesn't necessarily give you strict guidelines to follow but tasks that we have to do but are chosen by us. This way we get to use our own sense of style and interests to complete these tasks.
I don't like how we have to create all these things under e-mail because I don't like having all these passwords and other things linked to myself.
Overall, I think this is a great course and it helps us learn how to navigate around the web.

I like that this class is teaching us how to do things on the internet that we will be able to us outside of the classroom. I thought that the first project was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed the different things that we had to do to complete the project. On the other hand, I didn't really enjoy the second project. I think that there needs to be a better way to see what we have done for our tasks. I thought that the whole project was not very interesting and I don't think that I will ever make a page or edit one ever again! I think that the rest of the class is going to go by fast and I think that project 3 is going to be enjoyable!

I enjoy the course so far. I like learning about the different programs and sources that are out there. It helps widen my knowledge about the computer and internet. I also liked working in groups. I like that we don't have quizzes or tests and we only do projects. I know some people don't like that but I think it helps us learn more if we are hands-on.

Overall, I think the class has been going very well. I am interested in what we do on a day-to-day basis. I do believe, however, that some aspects of the projects are made out to be more difficult than they really are. I understand that students have questions that need answered but sometimes the more simple the explanation, the more creativity is produced. I am excited about Project #3 and where we are heading with it.

I think the course is fine so far. I was expecting the focus to be more on writing itself, but I am fine with what it actually turned out to be. I would like the answers to questions to be a little more elaborate, though. There were a few things on the Wikipedia assignment that I never did understand completely.

Dumping Online Caroline was the best decision I ever made.

To date, I have learned how to navigate and create blogs. I am not a fan of blogging and such, because I don't have time to do that type of stuff. I usually get on the internet to get research information or news. I really don't like getting in groups because I think it is better to just talk to the person next to us. It is a hassle to get up and move our stuff around. I have enjoyed getting to know Wikipedia. I never realized how easy it is for someone to post random stuff. I think project 3 is going to be interesting. I also enjoyed learning how to create a blog, even though I will probably never do it again. I think all of this internet stuff we are learning is valuable information for us for the future. Just about everything is computer-related and in the future, everything will be computer-related. So, every little bit that we can learn now, will help us in the future.

I like that i am getting exposure to all sorts of things that I would never have known about before. I love technology and use the internet all the time, so learning more about the resources that i can readily access is always beneficial. The projects themselves have been fairly practical and they have given me a hands on experience as to what goes into making these types of projects. I was fairly familiar with more of the stuff in project 1, but having to use hyperlinks and all the other tools that were required gave me a better understanding at the complexity of each webpage i use. Contributing to Wikipedia was a lot harder than i initially thought it would be, and the information that is on wikipedia is a lot more regulated than i was lead to believe. I have a new appreciation for wikipedia and i will try to continue to contribute to the site in the future. I appreciate this class because there is a lot more thinking involved that i thought there would be. the professor challenges us to not just do the exercised but think about how this technology and means of communication are impacting and changing our lives. By giving us a different perspective, i feel that i will be better able to objectively analyze how i use the internet and how i communicate with my peers on the internet. So far, so good.

So far I like this class for the most part. It's different than any other English class I've taken, which is refreshing. I like how the topics we discuss are more related to real life/modern things instead of just reading books, taking notes, and taking tests. I liked working in groups for the second project but don't really like getting into groups for class discussion that much, that doesn't seem to work as well in my opinion. Overall I think this is an interesting class though, it's good to have a class that isn't the same as every other English class I've taken before. Most of the time the subjects are more interesting to me than reading old English literature and such.

So far I think I've taken a liking to the course and its assignments. My favorite part is that it is not too demanding save the actual projects and even then I'm usually just having fun with it. Everything seems to be pretty black and white concerning what is expected of us, the only thing I could possibly pick on is the idea of someone who is completely computer illiterate stumbling into this class, but even then that would be a rare exception. The only other place I can think of that has room for improvement would be the course-work itself; to give some kind of gauge to our progress and a new variant for our grades maybe offer extra credit and/or quizzes regarding the readings to be done for that class.

I have enjoyed this class so far. I've really had fun with all the projects that we've worked. My favorite is the one we are currently working on. It is a new way to look at character development and has helped me become more aware of the overall personality of my fictional person. Before this project, I never thought about what my character's favorite movies, books, or TV shows are when I would write. These aspects certainly add a new dimensions and qualities to my story.
I also enjoy OnlineCaroline?, though I'm willing to bet that she isn't real.
Overall, I truly do enjoy the course and find the discussions to be interesting. For someone who isn't very computer savvy, I have found myself very intrigued by the discussions and projects and feel as though I have learned quite a bit.

I have enjoyed the course thus far. I am really glad that I know how to use wikipedia now, and I also think that being able to use google maps could come in handy. I like that our grade comes from projects. I am really excited for project 3 because it seems like it is going to be very fun to create a whole person on my own! I didnt enjoy the first project because I had some technical difficulties. I was locked out of my blogger, and my project ended up being a bit late. I also had some technical problems with wikipedia wanting to post my IP address as opposed to my sign in name. These were tech. problems and dont reflect upon the class, but they're my only gripes...

I really liked the first project. It was hard for me at first, coming up with a project I liked and could formulate everything around but it really interested me once I got everything together. Wikipedia, project 2 was a nightmare. I really enjoyed Wikipedia, as a "leisure activity." Now it just sucks knowing all that goes into it. I'm not entirely sure what working with Wikipedia was supposed to teach me, or at least I wasn't at the time. I guess right now, if you asked me I would say, the faults of the interweb? Some of the things we talk about are just really out there and don't get tied in really well or there isn't a clear link as to why we are looking at them. Also, I have like 50 new accounts and it's only mid semester. In general, I think so far taking this class has gotten me to think on a broader scheme about multimedia, multimedia writing and what is out there posted on the internet and ways to use and manipulate it. It really is a huge thing and so many people are out there creating, editing and deleting things all the time. Interesting stuff.

This class isn't so bad, but there are some things I don't see why we are taking the time to discuss. I do not like the idea of creating all these new accounts. I get enough junk and spam mail I really don't want any more from programs like Flickr and creating a new blog for a made up character. Online Caroline is something I would do in my spare time, not for a grade or class work. Although I don't have the time in my busy schedule to surf through someone else's life. I find it uneasy and awkward to do such a thing.
The first project wasn't difficult, but I wish it wasn't so long and intricate with specific items to include. I don't feel I fully understood how to utilize Flickr, Google Maps, etc. The second project seemed somewhat educational, but in the end, I won't ever use Wikipedia after this class. Wikipedia was so difficult for me to format that it gave me headaches. I found it not user friendly when it comes to performing the tasks or creating a new page. I really don't like the idea of this upcoming project. I don't fully grasp the educational value of some of the tasks we are asked to do in class and for a grade. I don't see how I'm supposed to make up a character and have pictures of this made-up person.

To begin with I feel that I have learned a great deal about working with sites like Flickr (hope I spelled that correctly) and Google Maps. Unfortunately I am unable to see how this translates into real world skills that can be used later on in life. Currently for an internship I am working on re-writing the Sociology department's web page, and to be honest nothing from this class has really helped me in doing that. Though I can understand that sharing personal information on the internet has become a huge trend in today's society, with our generation being as it is, most of us who have an interest in getting involved in social networks online, or sharing our lives online, have already done so, and already know how to for the most part. I feel that this class needs to touch more on the technical aspects of the internet that might help to serve us better in the future by preparing us for some of the more commonly encountered aspects of the working world.

I feel as the midterm is apporaching I have learned alot from this class. I am now much more comfortable with blogging and creating accounts such as flicker. I have also never used google maps so that experience taught me a lot. I also gained insight on the advantages and disadvantages of Wikipedia as well as learned how to create my own web page. Overall I feel this class has given me a better understand of the internet and social networks. I have also learned key concepts such as gamestop, and puzzle. The only thing that gets tough for me with this class is managing all the different accounts. I have my own accounts to remember as it is, so trying to remember all these different usernames and passwords is difficult. I feel that this could be minimized by eliminating some of the requirements for project 3. Besides this, I feel this class is great in helping us apply these projects to real life social networking and I feel I have learned more about the multimedia then I previously new. I also feel your teaching is what helps make this class easier as you are very good at explaining concepts and projects and I feel your grading is very fair as well.
